Cooperation with Gabon Clients for Veneer Production Line

2025/07/18 10:09

On July 17, 2025, against the backdrop of the deep integration of the "Belt and Road" initiative and the wave of industrialization in Africa, Shine Machinery welcomed a special delegation of clients. The two sides held in-depth discussions on the construction of a wood veneer processing base in Gabon, focusing on the equipment selection for a 100m3 per day veneer production line and a 30m3 per day plywood production line, as well as the comprehensive planning of the factory. Together, they are drawing a new blueprint for Sino-African forestry cooperation.

Strategic Alignment of a Strong Wood Industry Province and African Resources

The visiting merchants are attracted by Gabon's abundant forest resources and policy benefits. Gabon has a forest coverage rate of over 80%, with high-quality woods such as African teak and mahogany. The government has also introduced tax incentives, imposing only a 1.5% export tariff on tertiary processed wood products and applying a zero tax rate for value-added tax at the export stage.

Shine Machinery as a leading enterprise in the wood veneer processing equipment field, has been deeply involved in the industry for many years. Its developed rotary veneer cutting machines, roller veneer drying machines, and hot presses have been widely applied in the African market. For instance, Mr. Wang, who invested in an eucalyptus wood veneer processing plant in Zimbabwe, successfully solved the humidity control problem by introducing Shine's veneer drying machine, and the products were resold to the domestic market. This successful model will be replicated in the current cooperation to assist Gabon in transforming from raw wood exports to high-value-added processing.

Dual Breakthroughs in Intelligent Equipment and Factory Planning

In the production workshop of Shine Machinery, the delegation focused on inspecting the African teak/apricot veneer rotary sawing machine specially designed for the African market. This equipment adopts dual-roller drive technology, can automatically identify the diameter of the logs, and has a rotary cutting accuracy of ±0.1mm, which is 30% more efficient than traditional equipment, and is particularly suitable for African hardwood processing needs. The roller-type veneer dryer that goes with it adopts a segmented temperature control system, and through the circulation of heat transfer oil, it can reduce the moisture content from 60% to within 8%, with energy consumption reduced by 25%. For plywood production, Shine Machineri's 30-layer hot press machine is particularly impressive. Its synchronous closing system and gear rack balance technology ensure that the veneer is uniformly heated at 160℃, and the final product has a flatness error of less than 0.3mm, meeting the EU EN standards.

In terms of factory planning, Shine team proposed a "modular layout + intelligent warehousing" solution:

1. Intensive production area: Integrates processes such as rotary cutting, drying, and hot pressing into a steel structure factory, using suspended conveyor lines to connect each process, reducing the logistics distance by 30%;

2. Vertical storage: Introduces a drawer-type sheet storage system, with each group of shelves capable of storing 500 sheets of 3-meter-sized sheets, saving 60% of space compared to traditional stacking methods;

3. Energy recycling: Configures a biomass boiler to achieve an energy self-sufficiency rate of over 70%, meeting the requirements of Gabon's sustainable development.

New Paradigm of China-Africa Cooperation and Industry Insights

This visit was not only about equipment trade, but also about the output of technical standards and management experience. With Gabon's "2025 Fiscal Bill" setting the timber production target at 1.4 million tons, this cooperation is timely. The collaboration between Shine and the Clients in Gabon not only provides a model for enterprises to expand into the African market, but also interprets the "joint consultation, joint construction, and shared benefits" Silk Road spirit through practical actions. As the Gabon Forestry Minister said: "Chinese enterprises not only bring investment, but also the power to change the industrial landscape of Africa." This cross-border cooperation across mountains and seas may open a new chapter in the modernization of China-Africa forestry.
